I am loving my next calling as an educator: teaching adolescents one-on-one. With a M.Ed. from Stanford and a California Teaching Credential, I have taught high school Humanities for 30 years and am particularly experienced in teaching writing, history, literature, and social studies. Twenty of these years have been at The Bay School of San Francisco, where I’ve gained extensive experience working one-on-one with a wide range of students, many of whom have documented learning differences. I deeply understand independent schools, having helped found The Bay School and served in a variety of school leadership roles, most recently as the Humanities Department Chair. I bring this holistic knowledge of the independent school experience to my work with students.

and seeing my son off to college, I am resettling with my partner in Santa Cruz. I’ve lived in France, Mali, and Mexico, but Santa Cruz has called me ever since I first experienced its mountains and sea as an adventurous teenage hiker and surfer. These pursuits in nature nourish me still; as does reading, writing, meditating, and strolling Seabright Beach at sunset.
